What is the EDG?

The Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) helps Singaporean companies grow and transform their businesses. It is hosted by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and can be used to subsidise up to 80% of costs for projects that can help the SME improve under the three pillars of Core Capabilities, Innovation and Productivity, and Market Access.

What does this have to do with my restaurant?

Under Strategic Brand and Marketing Development of the Core Capabilities pillar, you can claim up to 80% of costs for projects that help your restaurant better capture target audiences by differentiating your brand, your products, and services.

How much funding am I eligible for?

The EDG supports up to 80% of qualified costs for SMEs. (Increased from 70% as of 1 April 2020)

When do I need to submit my application for EDG?

The 80% support level will end on 31st March 2022.

Do I qualify for the EDG?

To be eligible, you would need to:

• Be a registered company and operating in Singapore for at least 2 years.
• Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding.
• Be in a financially viable position* to start and complete the project.
• Have at least 3 employees (not including directors, partners, or owners).

*Based on our experience with the EDG, a restaurant applying for the EDG should have at least $20k in monthly revenue.

How long does a project with EDG last?

We offer a 6-month branding and marketing strategy package for restaurants interested in working with Protegie and the EDG.

How do I apply for the EDG?

You can apply through the Singapore Business Grants Portal.

How do I make claims under the EDG?

You can make claims through the ESG Grant Portal.

We will advise you along the way on how to make claims after engaging our consultancy services.
